Lies and Secrets Chapter 2
Chapter 2
By the next day neither Castor or Orla had heard from Jack and Castor was starting to freak.
“Its just not right!”
Orla sighed at him, “You’ve said that about thirty times already, give it a rest, we’ll go to his house after school to see if he’s there or not.”
Castor just nodded, Orla didn’t know Jack like Castor did. Jack and Castor had been friends since kindergarten, and Castor knew how depressed Jack could get sometimes. Castor had stopped Jack from cutting his own wrists in their freshman year.
The day went by slowly, but finally after what felt a month to Castor the final bell rang and he flew out the door to his car where Orla was already waiting. It was a five minuet drive from the school to Jacks house and when they arrived the house seem totally normal.
They got out of the car and trying not to look hurried or worried strode up to the door and knocked several times. Castor could hear the knocks echoing in the house and huge clomping foot steps coming to the door.
The door opened only to a sliver that showed a brownish golden eye about 7 feet up, “What do you want?”
“Hi Mr. Therson, is Jack here? He hasn’t been at school the past two days and hasn’t been answering his cell.”
The giant eye blinked and the door closed then opened all the way, revealing Jacks father Bob. A beast of a man at 7 feet tall, he was a former body builder but quit after he won the nationals and took up a humbler career as a professional photographer. While the man may have looked terrifying he was actually nothing but a big teddy bear.
“Come on in, he’s locked in his room,” Bobs baritone voice reverberated in the hallway, “He said he wasn’t feeling well yesterday and I decided not to debate it… I think maybe his mother found… you know… his secret.”
Castor nodded hoping that wasn’t the case, “Are any of the knives missing?”
Bob chuckled, “That was the first thing I checked. I am concerned for him though, he’s very under weight…”
Castor wouldn’t debate that but blames it on the magazines Jack read, Castor and Orla headed up the stairs to Jacks room and Castor hammered on the door, “Jack its me and Orla open up!”
“Go away…” came Jacks muffled response.
Castor huffed loudly, “If you don’t open up I’ll break down the door, don’t forget why I was kicked of the football team.”
They heard shuffling footsteps and papers falling to the floor and muttered curses. Castor knew that trick would work, last year their sophomore year Castor had tried out for their school football team, Castor was just shy of six feet tall, had slightly broad shoulders and a build that hid his true strength. He’d been accepted as a receiver on the team but was kicked out because after catching the ball he proceeded to; instead of dodging, barrel through the other players. While this technique did work, one of the parents of the opposing team complained loudly to the school board and he was thrown off the team for ‘poor sportsmanship’.
The door lock clicked and the door opened, and Castor came face to face with a sunken faced Jack.
Castor blinked at Jack, stunned he’d let himself go this far, and didn’t say anything till Orla spoke up, “if you keep this up you’ll be able to go to the Halloween dance as Jack the Pumpkin king by just wearing that black suit you have.”
This earned Orla a grin from jack that only made shivers run up Castor spine, Jacks face had literally become nothing but skin and bone, “When was the last time you ate Jack?”
Jack tilted his head thinking, “Last week I think…”
Castor reached forward and smacked Jacks forehead with the heel of his hand, “You need to eat EVERY day not once a week.”
Jack just shrugged and retreated back inside his room where his artwork had been flung all over the floor like a giant rug.
“So how come you haven’t been at school?” Castor asked following Jack in, pulling Orla with him, taking care not to trample the art.
Jack shrugged again as he collapsed back on his bed with his sketch book, “Didn’t feel like it.”
Castor was about to reply but a rubber ball that was on the desk suddenly whizzed past his face and smacked Jack square in between his eyes.
“Ouch! Why’d you do that?!”
Castor turned to Orla who was livid and remembered how she freaked out about school being your future and he plopped in his seat knowing it was better to let her have her way than get ripped apart by her feminine powers of evilness.
After about twenty minuets of Orla yelling and lecturing she finally plopped down on the floor and fell silent. Jack looked over at Castor his eyes wide, “Out of all the girls in the school you had to fall for the school crazed one.”
This earned Jack another ball to the face from Orla causing him to yelp and throw the ball back at her but missed completely and hit Castor who returned it where it bounced off his forehead and fell behind the bed.
Suddenly the heard a door slam down stairs and Castor knew that it couldn’t have been Bob, he may be a giant but he was never loud, then they heard Mrs. Therson yelling at Bob, “Who’s fucking car is parked outside?!”
They heard a deep mumbling then Mrs. Therson yelling incoherently at Bob, but Jack stood, shut his door, and dropped the heavy dead bolt into place, then curled back up on his bed. Jack blinked at Castor and Orla’s expressions, “Mom found out… she’s no happy.”
Castor blinked several times before speaking, “How did she find out? Bob didn’t tell her did he?”
Jack shook his head quickly, “No, he didn’t, I did, I thought I’d just try to see if she’d be ok with it… I was wrong.”
Orla stood and hugged Jack who returned the hug reluctantly, “You know you can stay at my house, my parents will be happy to have you.”
Jack shook his head, “Thank you Orla but I think I can survive…”
But Jack was cut off by the loud stomping up the stairs and what sounded like a heavy kick on the door and Mrs. Therson yelled through the door, “STUPID HOMO!!!”

A Book I'm writing
Prelude
Castor strode quickly through the cold park, the light fading quickly from the pinkish sky. He was in a hurry to go see his roommate Jack, there was a lot he wanted to tell him, a lot he’d hidden for a long time, but after what happened the previous night, Castor had decided it was time to tell not only Jack but also his girlfriend whom he was hoping to purpose to after his trip to South America. He’d been hired by a small time archeological company as an assistant, he mostly just hauled equipment and packed artifacts while the archeologists actually excavated and discovered new artifacts. Castor was grateful and in his opinion lucky to have the ADB pay for his education after the fiasco last year that ended up postponing the first expedition that was now rescheduled for this coming spring.
Castor glanced at his watch, it was almost 6:30pm, he had to hurry if he was going to beat Jack. Jack had just bought a scooter so he could get around faster but still not pay for insurance or very much for gas. He glanced up at his apartment building squinting, trying to see if his apartment lights where on or not. He knew it was pointless; him and Jack lived on the twelfth floor.
Castor strode into the building, fending off Borge by tossing him the last half of his sandwich from lunch earlier that day.
“Thanks Castor, you have no idea….”
Castor did know, and it was why he helped Borge like he did. He pondered taking the elevator like he normally did but something didn’t quite feel right and he was driven to take the stairs. He cocked his head to the side, listening to the vibrations of the building.
“Why does the building want me to take the stairs?” He pondered to himself as he started up the stairs of the building.
About five minuets later he came out of the stairwell on his floor and pulled his keys out sighing tiredly, cursing himself for listening to the vibrations of the building. As he turned the key the lock of his door there was a roaring sound that grew in intensity. Castor looked behind him and there was faltering bright light coming from the crack between the doors and as the noise grew the building began to shake.
People started coming out of their apartments to see what was going on and Castor was suddenly filled with dread, as the air grew electrified on a level most human beings couldn’t detect as the elevator flew past their level and a few seconds later smashed into the ground with such force that most people weren’t still standing. To every one else, this was just a freak elevator accident, but for Castor and people like him, it was a Mishki doing something it wasn’t supposed to be.
Chapter 1
Castor walked down the hall, his mp3 player playing just loud enough to drown out the noise around him. He didn’t like the ruthless drone of his fellows, especially in the morning when he hadn’t slept well. Castor sank into his usual spot in the morning, in front of his science classroom to wait for his friends to show up. He was always first because instead of riding the bus like every one else, Castor walked. He did have to get up a little earlier than his fellow students, but he got there first and in general had much more free time.
As the din of his fellow students increased, Castor was forced to turn his mp3 player up to help keep out the noise, but as he went to put it away a hand reached out from behind him and took his ear buds out and hugged him.
“You really shouldn’t have your music all the time, you’ll miss the things going on in the world around you.”
Castor leaned his head back to bop the head of his girlfriend Orla, “but around here its all the same boring stuff, and our generation is to selfish for my taste.”
Orla snickered at him, “Our generation huh, that includes you dumass.”
Castor cracked a grin, “Your point?”
Orla rolled her eyes at him then changed the subject, “So where’s Jack? He always beats me here in the mornings…”
Castor glanced at his watch, he hadn’t realized how much time had passed since he’d arrived, “I dunno…” Castor dug his cell out of his bag and sent a text to Jack asking him where he was.
Orla sighed and leaned against Castors back, her arms still wrapped around his stocky middle, “I hope he’s ok, I was worried for him when he said he was going to try to come out to his parents…”
Castor shook his head, now resting his hands on hers, “Both me and my mother said we’d take him in if things didn’t go over well with his folks. He’d would have called me or came over if something went wrong.”
Orla bobbed her head in agreement as the bell rang. “I’ll send you a text if I hear from him ok? I’ll see you at lunch.” said Castor as they parted with a hug.
First, second and third periods went with out hearing from Jack. This worried Castor as Jack always kept close tabs on his cell, even when he was ill. Castor hurried to his usual table to find Orla waiting for him.
“Have you heard from him?”
Castor sighed sadly, “No, I’m going over to his house after school today. This is not like him, like at all.”
Orla just nodded and rested her head on Castors shoulder. Castor ate quickly, then sent Jack another text. As he had a sudden strange feeling, and an odd scent hit his nostrils only for a second, it smelled like the incense that his church often burned but it was different. Orla spotted the look on Castors face and poked his cheek.
“What’s the matter?”
Castor shifted in his seat, the feeling and smell had gone just as fast as it had came, “I dunno, I just got an odd feeling…”
Orla stared at him, confused.
Castor shook his head, “I can’t explain it, come on lets go head toward art, the bell is going to ring soon.”
She nodded and they headed out of the caffiteria and down the hall. Castor knew what the feeling was, but he didn’t know why he’d gotten it. The feeling said ‘Change’.

Focus Improving Meditation
Just to get things started off, I am going to work my way up through basics of psychic work up to what I know and as I learn more I will share with you all. It will most likely take several months or so for me to get everything I currently know down here on the blog and I don’t want to mass post because I know how irritating it can be. So first things first, meditation; when I first started out and I was told to meditate I groaned. Mostly because my teacher didn’t tell me HOW to meditate and I had to figure it out on my own. Luckily for you, I won’t do that to you. This is the first meditation that I will teach and it is a focus improving meditation, pick an object, and if you’re just starting out pick something small, like a pencil or a small pebble. Examine that object thoroughly then, hide that object from sight, close your eyes and concentrate on the details that you saw on the object. Think about what role that object plays in everyday life, what it does and how. It is important that you do this at least once a week, as later on techniques will require quite a bit of focus and concentration. On Thursday I will teach you how to do a simple relaxation and mind clearing meditation on a shiny new laptop. Next Tuesday I will most likely cover basic psychic shielding. Thanks for reading!!!
